Welcome to Ndzhaka Tented Camp.

🐾 Hidden beneath a canopy of ancient riverine forest in the untamed Manyeleti Game Reserve, Ndzhaka Camp delivers one of the most authentic safari experiences in Greater Kruger. Intimate, rustic, and deeply connected to nature, this small wilderness camp is designed for travellers who want to experience Africa without crowds, fences, or distractions.

🐾 With just five charming safari tents accommodating a maximum of 10 guests, Ndzhaka is the perfect mid-range lodge, offering a quieter and more personal safari experience where wildlife moves freely through camp and every game drive feels exclusive.

🐾From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere feels different. Towering jackalberry trees shade the camp while nyalas wander between the tents and birds fill the forest canopy with constant activity.

🐾  Nearby, elephants and buffalo regularly visit the camp’s waterhole, creating unforgettable sightings without ever leaving camp.

🐾 One of Ndzhaka’s standout features is its private waterhole positioned below the deck.

Guests often spend hours here watching predators, antelope, elephants, and birdlife approach the water undisturbed.

🐾 Accommodation

Hidden beneath the trees, Ndzhaka’s raised safari tents are designed to immerse guests in the surrounding wilderness while still providing all the essentials for a comfortable stay.

🐾 Rustic in character yet thoughtfully equipped, each tent blends naturally into the bushveld and offers a genuine connection to the African wild.

🐾 Wake up to the sounds of birds overhead, unzip your tent to the fresh morning air, and step onto your private wooden deck overlooking the nearby waterhole where wildlife regularly gathers throughout the day.

🐾 Each tent features comfortable double beds, full electricity, cooling fans, mosquito nets, and open-air en-suite bathrooms complete with hot showers and flushing toilets. The experience is intentionally authentic rather than luxurious — focused on atmosphere, simplicity, and the feeling of living within the landscape rather than observing it from afar.

🐾 This is not a staged safari experience. With no fences surrounding the camp, elephants, nyalas, hyenas, and other wildlife frequently move through the area completely undisturbed. Whether you are enjoying a quiet morning coffee on your deck or unwinding beside the fire at sunset, the wilderness constantly feels close, raw, and unpredictable in the best possible way.

Safari Experience at Ndzhaka

Safari activities are centred around twice-daily game drives led by experienced local guides with deep knowledge of the Manyeleti ecosystem. Morning safaris reveal the bush as it awakens, while afternoon and sunset drives transition into night drives where nocturnal predators begin to emerge.

Unlike busier reserves, Manyeleti’s quieter roads allow for more intimate wildlife sightings and uninterrupted moments in nature. Guests regularly encounter the Big Five alongside cheetahs, wild dogs, giraffes, zebras, and an exceptional variety of birdlife.

Evenings at camp revolve around the fire. Guests gather in the lantern-lit dining area to enjoy freshly prepared meals cooked over an open flame before sharing stories beneath the African night sky. The camp’s relaxed communal atmosphere is one of the reasons many travellers leave Ndzhaka feeling less like visitors and more like part of the camp itself.

Ndzhaka is also deeply connected to the surrounding communities. All camp staff come from villages bordering the reserve, and a portion of the camp’s turnover supports local community initiatives. Staying at Ndzhaka directly contributes to conservation, local employment, and sustainable tourism within the Greater Kruger region.

For travellers seeking an authentic Greater Kruger safari with genuine hospitality, exceptional wildlife encounters, and a true connection to the African bush, Ndzhaka Camp remains one of Manyeleti’s hidden gems.
